Tony Feher

April 26 - August 11, 2002

American artist Tony Feher has become a leading voice among his generation of sculptors. Rooted in the legacy of Minimalism, Feher's understated use of humble, “forgettable” materials that he finds—bottles, jars, plastic soda crates—turns the commonplace and mundane into work that is rich with human emotion and fragile beauty. Two installations created for the Contemporary Gallery and the 12th-century Chapter House will invite viewers to reconsider the purpose and meaning of sculpture.
Tony Feher is represented by D'Amelio Terras Gallery in New York. This exhibition is supported by the Don and Mary Melville Contemporary Art Fund. The media sponsor is Worcester Magazine. Additional support provided by the LEF Foundation
