Antioch: The Lost Ancient City - Worcester's Community Mosaic

About the Mosaicist

A San Diego native with family roots in Worcester, Kim Emerson learned the medium of tile and mosaics while volunteering to build a pre-school in Tijuana, B.C. New Mexico that was designed by internationally acclaimed architect/artist James Hubbell. She holds an M.S. degree in Historic Preservation of Architecture from the University of Oregon School of Architecture and Allied Arts. Ms. Emerson has extensive teaching and community-service experience and has recently completed commissions at the Children's Hospital of San Diego; an interactive shade structure/entrance gate and 12-panel sidewalk mosaic for the City of La Quinta, Fritz Burn's Community Park; and several private commissions. Kim's experience with community-based art projects has been especially beneficial to Worcester's Community Mosaic.
