Working with the Bullard photos was my first time working in a museum-related setting. It was really exciting to see the walls before anything was hung, talk with the people in charge of designing the space and the museum catalogue, and discuss ideas about how to display the photos. Working on David T. Oswell's photo, I had the honor of speaking with his descendants. I also learned a great deal about the church-related community near Beaver Brook. I spent most of my time looking through newspaper clippings and, by looking at what kinds of patterns emerged, I was able to find out certain aspects of church-related life in Beaver Brook. I found out that events, fundraisers, dinners, Sunday schools, and plays were ways in which the citizens of the community could interact with one another and learn and make connections. The Worcester Public Library was a great source of information, they had access to Ancestry.com accounts, old newspaper clippings, and books about the churches of Worcester which could be useful for anyone looking into their own personal history or local history.
